A sprinkler install that leaves your lawn looking better, not torn up
Where other companies cut corners to save a few dollars, we design every system for your specific yard and use equipment built for installing on existing lawns.
Custom layout for your yard
Heads spray away from your buildings and every zone is tuned to put water where your lawn and beds need it most.
No trenches through your lawn
Pipe goes in with a vibratory plow, a cutting wheel slices the sod first so nothing rips, and we can drill under walks and paths.
Done in a day, cleaned up before we leave
Most installs take 3 to 4 hours and 90% are finished in one day. A job is not done until everything is swept up.
Warranty and follow-up built in
Every new system includes a 2-year warranty, plus a complimentary head adjustment after your sod is installed.
A worry-free system you do not have to be home for
Smart controllers adjust watering daily from local weather data, and rain sensors shut your system off the moment it starts raining. You get a greener lawn and a lower water bill without touching a timer.
- Wi-Fi controllers you run from your phone
- Rain and weather sensors
- Low-flow MP Rotator heads
- Second water meters where your city allows
Make your home look as good at night as it does during the day

Dedicated to 100% customer satisfaction
Homeowners, businesses and nonprofits across Metro Detroit trust Maddox with their irrigation. Here is what a few of them had to say.
We have used Maddox Irrigation for over 10 years now and have had great service. Every crew we have seen over the years has been knowledgeable and professional. We highly recommend them!
These guys came in and knocked it out! They had an army of 10 guys, everyone pulled their weight and completed the job in less than 2 hours. Post install service techs arrived the same day I called! Highly recommended.
The Maddox team was very thorough and polite. They were prompt and did a great job. They came back a week or so later to make adjustments to the sprinkler heads and coverage. I called them a couple months later to adjust some heads and they came right out. No charge.
Choosing Maddox among the numerous companies listed on Google proved to be a wise decision for our nonprofit! Their commitment to customer service is admirable.

Sprinkler system FAQs
Straight answers from a Macomb irrigation contractor that has been doing this since 1989.
See all FAQs and troubleshooting tipsHow long does it take to install a sprinkler system?
Most Maddox sprinkler installations take about 3 to 4 hours depending on the size of the yard, and 90% of installations are completed in one day.
Will sprinkler installation ruin my lawn?
No. Maddox uses machines built for installing sprinklers in existing lawns. Pipe is installed with a vibratory plow instead of open trenches, and a cutting wheel slices the sod first so it does not tear. Most lawns are back to normal or better within 2 to 4 weeks.
Do I need to be home for my sprinkler installation?
Yes, for about 2 hours so the crew can get inside to connect the plumbing and install the timer. For service calls, ask about a hands-free system that does not require you to be home.
When should I winterize my sprinkler system in Michigan?
Before the first freeze. Maddox starts winterizing in early October and recommends booking early, because every freeze increases the chance of cracked or weakened pipes.
When should I start up my sprinkler system in the spring?
Most spring start-ups in Southeast Michigan happen in May, once nighttime temperatures stay above freezing.
What sprinkler and lighting brands does Maddox install?
Maddox installs and services Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, Weathermatic, K-Rain and FX Lighting products.
Is Maddox Irrigation insured, and do you offer financing?
Yes. Maddox Irrigation is fully insured with workers compensation and liability coverage up to $1,000,000, and financing is available for new installations.
